Get monthly and on-demand reports of interns' work items, delivered as timeline notifications to help mentors stay updated with minimal effort.

The DevRev Intern Insights snap-in helps mentors track their interns' progress by generating a monthly report of work items. At the end of each month, mentors receive a notification summarizing In Progress and Completed work items for each assigned intern. These notifications appear in the Events section under Other by default. The report includes a timeline entry formatted like this:

Only relevant work items are included:

• Items completed within the given time range
• Items started within the given time range

Items marked as Won't Fix or Duplicate are excluded.  

Features

• Automated Monthly Reports Mentors receive a monthly summary of their interns' In Progress and Completed work items.  
• In-App Notifications Reports are delivered as timeline entries in the snap-in’s Events section. Users can prioritize them in their notification settings.  
• On-Demand Execution Use the /send_intern_insights slash command to generate and send reports at any time during the month.

 

Installation

1. Click on the "Configure" button.
2. Add a new entry under "Mentor and Interns" by specifying a mentor and their interns.
   • The mentor's email must be the first value, followed by the interns' emails.
   • All email addresses should be separated by commas with no spaces.
   • Example:

    mentor@mail.com,intern-a@mail.com,intern-b@mail.com
   

3. Click Save to apply the configuration.
