Job Description

We are an untraditional SaaS revenue organization, built to support a rapidly scaling technology start-up driven by product-led-growth and sales (PLG / PLS).  Our Business Development team leads from the front, expanding DevRev's customer base and building a healthy customer pipeline for the company. You will partner with our growth team to cultivate leads, establish prospecting strategies to find new prospects and manage the first outreach with potential customers. The goal is to find early adopters who feel pain in how their companies converge with customers. At DevRev, we expect our BD team lead to courageously provide feedback on process and product. Activities related to this role will, for example, include:

  • Scale and lead our business development team to expand outreach and build our pipeline with high quality prospects 
  • Establish processes to relentlessly manage customer followup and monitor pipeline health through a team and data / metric first philosophy (e.g. training, dashboards, etc) 
  • Determine team quotas by working across customer teams and finding key decision makers
  • Develop innovative approaches for outbound outreach to discover ideal prospects
  • Nurture and follow up with customers to learn pain points, provide product demos, share use cases and gather requirements
  • Outreach (warm & cold) to customers around the world, regardless of timezone 
  • Work with our Product and Engineering to share feedback and feature requests
  • Create content and refine scripts to support interest in taking intro sales meetings
  • Maintain pipeline data and account information in DevRev's in-house CRM


Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • BA/BS, or equivalent educational or professional experience
  • Ability to connect with people deeply!
  • Outstanding communication (written and spoken), collaboration, and follow-up skills, with professionalism and friendliness
  • Knowledge of software market and IT Organizational structures
  • Sales Development Representative (SDR), Business Development Representative (BDR), customer service or other related experience 
  • Some technical knowledge in cloud-based SaaS implementations and integrations
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, global environment
